We consider the software industry, as a whole, a terrific opportunity to reduce an overall carbon footprint, move towards energy self- sufficiency and green operations. Here's what we are doing to help achieve these goals:
As a Green Business, we:
Installed solar panels for power generation
Recycle all possible materials, including:
Paper
Newspaper
Cardboard
Plastics
Printer cartridges
Old computers, printers and equipment
Cell phones and other electronics
Purchase recycled and post-consumer content paper
Reuse boxes and packaging materials for shipping
Use non-disposable dishes and flatware in our kitchen and break areas
Generate nearly zero physical collateral (nearly all collateral is delivered electronically)
Print double-sided for Workshop Binders and other materials
Minimize driving – we have a zero-commute ethic
Consciously turn off room lights when not in the room
Use CFL light-bulbs
Leave computers, printers and other devices off or in “sleep” modes when not in use
Heat or cool only specific parts of the building, when and as needed
Use low-flow toilets
Have natural, very low water-consumption ground cover
